the 93 runs again

finaly got enough parts instaled to get the engine started! still a ways more to be finished though, because of the prety major front end damage this car had it needed alot of little things like plastic pannels, radiator/codensor ect. even new fuel injectors because the old ones were sticking from siting for 4 years and causing a dead miss in a few clys. the gas tank dident look to nice inside ether I got a set of accell 24 lb ers that are listed as stock replacement, I guess thay are rated at different fuel pressures.
the cam is prety mild, I like it so far and I'm sure that after I get my tune it will idle even better! big cams sound cool but gets real anoying to me in a short time.
still have to replace the air bags and get it painted after its running 100%! damm I should have goten rid of this thing along time ago would have had alot more money in the bank

accell must rate there injector flow at different pressures than GM
because the application guide lists the 24 lb units as stock replacement for the 93s, and the 26 lb units for the 94-97 models.
if the accels were rated at the same pressure the 93 would have been beter off with the 23 lb units and the 94-97 would use the 24s

has any one actualy flowed the stock injectors to know for sure how much they flow? I know GM lists a 23 injector as stock replacement for 93 and 24 lb for 94-97

I can see why they would list them as stock replacement injectors.... they rate their injectors at 44.1 PSI and we run 43.5.
It's not a major difference, but it still comes out to 23.836 lb/hr on an LT1.

For a comparison, SVOs are rated at 39.2 and their 24#s will flow 25.28 lb/hr at our pressure. They will work, but they're really not a "direct replacement". (without tuning that is)

The stock 93 LT1 tuning has an injector constant of 24.1 lb/hr. Why is that, I have no idea. I'd be curious to see some flow numbers for the 93 injectors myself.... but I've also seen many sources that list the later, 24# injectors as 21.6...

I'd be willing to send some 93 and 94+ injectors to someone who has a flowbench to put an end to this rumour.

you know some one that flows injectors? I got my old set that I pulled out still, a few dident work right (cloged, sticking, or somthing) causing a dead miss in a few clys I know at least 2 were working 100%. I guess sitting for 4 year with old gas causes problems, I know the fuel in the tank condenced down to a mush and the fuel pump dident work.
