Unhappy Track times

I didn't do near as good as I hoped. The car is running REAL rich (puffs out black smoke when I get on it) and to start the day off it was about 85* and humid. My first run I came in at 13.748, and I was a little p*ssed. The night went on, and the weather cooled down to about 60* and didn't feel any humidity. Here was my best run with 25 psi tire pressure, and launching a little above 3,000.
R/T - .740
60' - 2.234 - spinning
330' - 5.885
1/8 - 8.825 @ 83.88
1000' - 11.363
1/4 - 13.497 @ 106.21

I had to guess at where to shift at, because the monster tach is wired into the Crane HI-6S that took a dump on me a while back, and the stock tach goes red at 5700. I need to get it dynoed so Alvin can tune it again and bump the rev limiter up. I need to find out what's up with the HI-6S or take it back, in the process of getting a new shifter, need new Panhard Rod and LCA's, then probably a AFPR.

feel free to chime in. I know my short times sucked, but it will take some getting used to since this was my first time with the new set-up. Any guesses on where I will be once a get a new tune? Where does my mph suggest my E.T. should be at?

let me be the first to say get those 60's down. 2.2, put a set of dr's and i can see that going to around a 1.7, then your 1/4 would be high 12's.

my opinion

what does everyone think about putting DR's on a stock 135,000 mile rear-end? What if I was to refresh the rear-end and but a girdle on it?

Definately get a new tune first. Your mph is low for what you have. I trap 112 with only bolt-ons.

Put a tune in it and then worry about traction. Then you should invest in some suspension parts(torque arm, lcas, springs). Maybe some drag radials if you have the dollars.

If you have the 30lb injectors in there with the stock tune, then that is most of your problem right there.

The humidity def. wasn't that nice to ya.. I'd say get a better tune like slim said.. That mph is hideous.. Some Drag radial's and boom you'll be easy in the 12's.. maybe faster..

The injectors are with the PCMforless tune, I knew something was bad when a stock LS1 was pulling me.
My best run was at night when there wasn't hardly any humidity and it was probably around 65*
I need to get a panhard rod and LCA's anyway.
I'm thinking about getting a rebuild kit for the rear-end and a girdle.
If I can I'm going to get rid of the HI-6S ignition ( i think it is still under warranty) and get an accel 300+. Then once the rich condition is fixed and the rev limiter is bumped up with the new tune I hope to be mid 12's.

DOn't be fooled that cause the air is cool that that Humidity is down!.. I hope you go low to mid 12's honestly.. I went mid 12's at 3800 lbs on a bolt on car...

Damn, I hope i go low 12's too then.
I wish I had a chance to make more passes last night.
Somebody in a S-10 truck lost his tire and axle, and then kept going down the track like it was nothing and dumped gear oil everywhere, so they shut down the track for half an hour or more.
I only made 4 passes in 4 hours. Usually get about 8-10.
I Just need to get some practice in with the car to hopefully learn how to launch it better and get the times down.
I've got a list of things I need to do before I take it back to the track.

The car will definitely pick up. My car has similar mods, except an A4. I also still have stock injectors and TB. Mine is also tuned by PCMFORLESS.

My best so far has been a 12.7 @ 107. Still running the first tune that Brian sent me. I need to start logging some runs so that he can get the tune a little closer.

Last year when I ran the 12.7 I had a 1.76 sixty foot. When I ran the 12.7 this year I had a 1.95 sixty foot. So maybe it picked up a little (only changes were an electric water pump and plug change).

Good Luck.
