93 LT1 heads, are they different?

Are they any different than the other years? I have a set off the 93Z build up and there's a guy locally with a 96SS that is looking for a set, but he thought the 93's were year specific or something. Anyone know?

I have a spare set of 93 LT1 heads. And they guy I bought them off of. Informed me, that they were different from 94-97 Fbodies. He said that they had a different size combustion chamber.

Also know someone else, who after I told him my casting # he has been begging to trade me heads. He said Ligenfelter, informed him my casting # (93 fbody heads) had more metal. And would allow more porting to be done, over a 94-97 LT1 Head.

I have only heard this from 2 people. And have never been able to prove it though.

Im just going to keep mine, because I got them for a good price, and they are clean. lol

there's more porting potential on 93-95 aluminum LT1 heads, not just the 93's..

The casting # is an 8 digit number in the spring valley.

The ones ending in 374 have the most material to port with.

The 92-93 heads were also composed of a slightly different alloy than the other years. There's more metal and more ability to port.

So what is the differance in the combustion chambers? Im the one Jason was talking about. I remember it being talked about on here once before.About there being some differant things with the later head castings like in the 96 & 97 LT1`s but i just can`t remember what all was differant about them.I was sure it was more than just how much you could port one more than the other. Anyone elese know? Thanks For Your Time. Mike........
