93 LT1 converting to 96LT1

What do i have to do to my 93LT1 to get it to work with my 96 setup? I have a 96 Impala LT1, with 100% brand new stuff -- is most of the bolt on stuff interchangeable?

Also, if i wanted to do an opti-swap (my nice new vented 96 opti for a used 94k miles 93 opti) can I re-use the timing gear & chain on my impala, and swap it on? Or is that a bad idea?

Thanks!

Tyler

Everything should move over from your 93 to the 96 motor, The timing set is different, the hole in the middle is not large enough on the 93s timing gear for the 96 opti to fit into, you will of course also need the longer cam dowel pin to drive the opti.

cool -- so i can use the harness, and all the other pieces from the Impala on the camaro engine, so long as I flash the PCM for a 93 camaro? I'd totally do the cam swap, it is just probably going to be more expensive than this option... unless there is a good stock 96/97 cam out there for cheap...
