93 Intake Manifold

Does the 93 LT1 intake manifold flow any better than say a 95? I ask because I noticed that it doesn't have the fuel line cross over in the front like the newer ones. I recently picked one up and was wondering if it would be worth switching.

No, the inside or plenum volume is exactly the same. The LT1 intake flows very well stock and that is why you don't see any (other than the failed Edelbrock intake) offered on the market. The next step up is to go with a single plan intake like a vic jr.

As you stated the only difference is the fuel rail mounting/crossover tube (not in the front on 93').

I just thought that maybe it would flow a little better without that boss hanging off the roof in the way for the cross over.

Re: 93 Intake Manifold

There is no "boss". They just cast a deep groove in what was already a solid block of aluminum. It doesn't hang down into the plenum.

Re: 93 Intake Manifold

There are far more restrictions in an LT1 than the intake manifold roof. It is easiest for most people to assume it as a restriction, but it is not.

I just assumed that it was hanging down. Guess I shouldn't assume. Thanks.
