93 camaro questions

i just picked up a 93 camaro Z28 A4 for my gf. naturally she has caught the same bug i got and wants it faster, so my question is with it being speed density does that affect what can be done with it? i know my 97 SS was mass air, and have heard speed density isnt the greatest for performance, so just wandering what can be done without throwing the tune too far off ?? i might be completely wrong on this but i just want to get some opinions about possible problems before going to deep with this car.. thanks

Re: 93 camaro questions

From what I've seen on here and on my friend's old 93 formula.. the speed density cars tend to be a little quicker in bolt-on trim than the MAF cars.

Re: 93 camaro questions

what about if u get into them a bit with say an LE1 or LE2 set-up ?? is it harder to tune on these than a MAF car, and one other question i had wanted to ask is what would be needed to convert it to mass air, if thats even posisble or worth doing.

Re: 93 camaro questions

you should check out www.speeddensity.org Its a site dedicated just for 93 T/A's and Camaros. Great Guys and very knowlegable too. As for the heads question, lots of guys on the site have done it and had no problems. Check it out everybody there is always willing to help. I'm new to this site but it looks like the guys from speeddensity come here as well. Both sites are great, speeddensity is just 93 specific.

Ditto.

As for tuning, the Chip guy for PCMForLess is a miracle worker with the 93's. You can do no wrong getting a tune from him. Yes, it's a bit more difficult given that the 93's aren't reflashable and you use a removable EEProm chip, but hey, it's worth the extra work.

good to know guys thanks. i was just a little skeptical about tearing into this thing totally understanding the speed density thing, but since there is someone who can understand it for me (pcmforless) i think i will be just fine then...lol..but seriously thanks for the info it helped quite a bit actually.
