93 camaro lt1 running rich

Ok, I have a 93 lt1. It is about 2 bars rich on the a/f gauge at all rpms on acceleration, and idle. it does fluctuate some but stays about 2 bars rich execpt on decel when it goes all the way lean, which i think is normal (dfco). You can also definatly smell fuel from the exhaust so it is really rich, not just a bad o2 or gauge.
It has no cat, an lt4 hotcam, new optispark, new ngk platinum plugs, new wires, and the last time i checked the fuel pressure was normal.
It was doing the same thing before my optispark went out. When the opti went out i changed cam, springs timing chain, distributor, wires, and plugs.
The check engine light is not on.
does anyone have any ideas what could be causing it?

Please add a signature so we know what all has been done. If you did mods and didn't have it tuned it will not run right. A cam change is definately a tune item. Any codes?

I havent checked codes since cam install, but it the check engine light is not on. It was running rich before the cam install and didnt have any codes then.

its just a bar type a/f gauge, that works off of the o2 sensor.
Not all that accurate, but better than nothing.
It really is flooding though, you can smell it real strong.

93s will run a little rich due to speed speed density.

I would expect it to be a little rich, but it seems very rich.
I raced a friend last night and he said it was so rich that it made his eyes burn when I was in front of him.
also, wouldnt the bigger cam make it a bit lean at w.o.t.?

Try installing an adjustable Fuel Pressure regulator to lean it out some.

Try getting a data log and have someone on the board review it for problems. Some people will run the HOTCAM with out a tune, but a tune is recommended

Do you have headers with the cam your running? If so and you dont have the four wire o2 sensor conversion then you car will be running in open loop. the o2s will n ot get hot enough to send a signal and the car will run pig rich.

Try hookin up a fuel pressure gauge and see what your reading are at WOT.

I did think about an afpr.
since it is rich at all rpms and loads I think it should work.
No headers just stock manifolds.

just noticed you said it was a 93 and said nothing about a tune. You will deffintly need a tune on a 93 the computers in them will not allow them to adjust as much as the 94s and up
