93 A4 ?s

Background: I had my transmission rebuilt. Or so I thought it wasn't rebuilt the guy just swapped it out...Anyway when I went to call him on it, he poof! Vanished, closed his doors, and I can't find him to place charges The transmission he used was a later 700R4 but the lock up harness is different than the 93 5 prong, and the transmission is sub par, and gets worse every day.

So, I need a 93 A4 (700R4/4L60). I know it is different than the normal 700R4/4L60. But what I need to know is: what year transmissions from what model GM Cars/Trucks will work and be 100% plug and play, and retain a shift point around 6K? What I mean is Just pull mine and put it in and hook it up. That includes the lock up for the stall too.

I know the 93 Z28, and Firebird Transmission will work (obviously), but what else will?

The only other guess I have is the 92 ~ 93 Corvette, but will it work 100% plug and play? No wire cutting, part swapping, etc...

Please help! I am ready to purchase a transmission, if needs be a core to rebuild, or a good used tranny to hold me over until I am ready to to beef it up.

Thanks in advance for ALL replies

Sorry to butt in here.....I can't help you with your trans question. I saw your mods and as you can see we are about the same except for the A4 vs the M6. What did you do to prevent burning #7 plug wire boot? No matter what I try it touches these (pacesetter) headers? If you do not get a answer to your question...try the drivetrain forum or Speed Density.com

What is your E-mail and I will send you a picture or two. Are you sure #7 is the one? #7 wasn't a problem for me, now #6, and #8 I had to get sorta creative

a vett tranny would require the swap of the tail shaft houseing. As far as the 4 pin trannys im not sure sorry just make sure it is a 30 spline input shaft

Swapping the tail shat wouldn't be an issue since I have to pull it apart anyway for the speedo gears
