93-97 TA Ram Air Hood and Air Box question?

I am looking for a Hood for my 95 Firebird. I see in the GP section that there is a 20% off sale on hoods and air box assy. I was wondering if both hoods performed the same as far as Air Flow and HP goes, provided the filteres were the same brand? SO basically what hood Performs better?

Is there an Aftermarket Air Box that is better than the one in the GP? The on in the GP goes for $300.00 before the 20%. If there is something better out there than I'd rather invest in it now rather than pay $300. for a stock part.

My current set up is the K&N Cold Air that drops down the drivers side. I was thinking that it would be cool to free up that space a little, only as long as the ram air makes more HP than The K&N set up. So, Does the Ram Air out perform the K&N Cold Air?

Do I have to change the Radiator support out to use the Air Box, I currently have the Polished BMR support?

I also have a Big Radiator, Will that make the install difficult since the Radiator does not sit like the stock one did?

Thanks for the Help. I'm trying to see if a RAM AIR set up is worth my Time and $$$

Well, if it's suncoast, their airbox is pretty nice. No fins on the front to cut. It will be fine as is. Either hood will perform about the same.

Freeing up the space where the old CAI was is a great convenience because you can then have a good mounting point for an ignition box instead of putting it somewhere intrusive. It's quite nice.

As for how the airbox sits, you may run into trouble if you have an aftermarket radiator that sits higher than the stock one. The hood actually semi-seals against the airbox, so if the airbox is sitting higher than stock, you're probably going to run into fitment problems. The stock radiator support is what the Ram Air box fastens to also.

I swapped in an SLP Ram Air HO hood and air-box, that replaced the K&N FIPK. I noticed no difference in performance at the 1/4 mile or on the street.
