93 to 94 PCM HARNESS Conversion HELP!

First off, YES I did search for help 1st.

Now I'm in the process RIGHT NOW of converting my 93 to a 94 setup.
I've done everything Madwolf mentioned. I swapped the IAC connector, Swapped the clusters, swapped the 2 wires under the dash (Fuel pump power and Serial Data)

Now my car fires up, but dies after 2-3 secs and even faster if I give it gas. Car has spark, and fuel pressure.

One thing I was wondering, do I need the 94 Body Control Module? I was looking at wiring schematics and the serial data line for 94 cars run straight into the BCM. It looks the same as 93s, but didn't know if 94 BCMs are different?

When FLASHING the pcm, for some unusual reason I get constant "CLICKING" from the CCP module on the passenger side of the intake...Seems to me some wiring is still needed. One more thing I noticed is that there is one wire different on 94 cars, If you look at the 10 pin connector on the passenger side strut tower, PIN D on the 94s is Blue and Tan on the 93s... Schematics state that the D Pin on 94s are for serial data, but WHY?????

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! I need to get this done by track opening day on Saturday!!!!!

thats what I thought, just didn't know why. I converted my 93 to a 94 pcm and didn't have to change that.

Re: 93 to 94 PCM HARNESS Conversion HELP!

I replied to the post in the computer section. But basicly I plugged it in and changed the appropriate underhood parts without a problem, I never flashed the computer from the car the work was done on, I only flashed it in my car then swapped the computer over to it (because I only have the cable to fit my 97).
I'm wondering if you have a component failure to cause this?

the wires you swapped were simply on the ALDL connector correct?

Re: 93 to 94 PCM HARNESS Conversion HELP!

Did someone disable the VATs in the PCM? Sounds like the anti-theft mode is kicking in and the PCM cuts the fuel off.

I had my 93 TA converted from speed density to mass air and did not have to change the cluster. I remember VATs being an issue with the PCM change.

Re: 93 to 94 PCM HARNESS Conversion HELP!

Thanks for the reply guys.

I will try to disable VATs today. I'm pretty sure you can disable with TunerCat right?

But I don't understand the "clicking" noise coming from the canister purge selenoid while flashing the PCM?!??

Any other ideas? Thanks.
