Are 92 vette water pumps the same as 94-97 fbodies?

Looking to get a cheap one off ebay. The guy said it was on his 1992 vette but use to be on a 97 z28.
I just want it for the housing for my CSI electric pump.

I was shpped a Vette pump by mistake from a Chevy Dealership; it's very close but has one less or one more (I forgot which) port...so I would say they're not the same.

Hey good question. I've got one off a '94 Vette I'm polishing right now and getting ready for an electric pump for my Z. If it's got one extra port, I can't see that being a problem, you could block it off somehow. I'll take a look at mine tonight after work and let ya know.

Pumps from 92 to 97 should be interchangeable.

I am 99% certain that the Vette LT1 water pump does not have provision for the radiator 'bypass' hose...

Just looked at the Vette pump in the garage. Looking at it from the front of the pump, there are 3 ports facing to the left (towards the passenger side, counting the thermostat), and one on the right.

LT1 fbody pump has 3[including thermo hsng]facing psgr side and TWO facing drivers side[one is for that 'bypass hose ' I mentioned in earlier post]So the Vette pump won't really work on an fbody, it's one port short..
Though it is a good solution for an LT1 dropped into a regular car with a standard radiator that has 2 outlets as opposed to our 3 radiator outlets..

he's got a picture of it up on ebay.. it looks exactly like a Fbody waterpump.. i think it is.. he says thats what it came off of but i dont know how he put it on the vette.. There are 92 vette waterpumps on ebay for sale.. will fit up to 1996 vettes im sure and they both look different than the one he has for sale.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33604

This is the pic of it.. he's got 3 ports including the thermostat hose pointing to the passenger side just like ours and 2 facing the drivers side... I looked at my pump (still installed) and it looks the same..

Basically this guy must have been runnign a fbody pump on a Vette. He probably stuck a rubber house on the bottom driverside port and plugged it.
The auction is about to end so Could someone give me their expert "eye" along with mine and tell me if this is actually a Fbody pump..

The auction blurb says that he thinks it came off a 1997 Z. All the outlets look the same compared to my 1995 Z w/p, so it should work. No way to really know if it is a good one, but would be good for a core for an electric pump (assuming no cracks).

OK guys here's the deal. Just went out and checked the Vette pump and looked at my pump in the car. Mind you this pump I have in my hand came out of a '94 Vette, but I don't think they're any different than in the '92's and '93's.

All the outlets are in the same place. The ONLY difference I saw is that a couple of the fittings on the F-body pump are a different shape, but they are the same size, so that shouldn't be too hard to work around.

Well I have a core in the garage that does not have the bypass hose fitting..
Got it from stewmeister, and further info revealed that it was off a Vette, and thought to be the same..
I believe that the p/n is 12527739[that's what's on the box] whereas a f body WP is 12527741.. I am not 100% positive tho, since the actual pump isnt p/n marked..[boxes may not be correct, just used for shipping?]
Food for thought tho..

[Did a search on gmpartsdirect, and the 12527739 came up Corvette and has a pic of it[without the bypass hose fitting]
12527741 came up for f body LT1 and pic shows it with the bypass hose fitting..]
