New MAF Freq Vs Flow chart.

I can e-mail you the chart that I have programmed in my car. It's an interpolated chart directly from a '02 Z06 PCM.

I got my cable from Kevin @ Ramchargers.

I would love to see the chart you have.

If possible, please email me at REPO@shaw.ca

Also what cable are you talking about? The adapter to plug it into my harness?

There's a pigtail that your current MAF plugs into.. it replaces that pigtail. Or well on my car it had a pigtail... there's an adapter cable that you have to use because the stock MAF has a 3-position connector, the Z06 is a 5-position.

Thanks for the info.

Do you still have that chart you mentioned? I would love to look at it.

or you can just decrese the values on your stock MAF table and lean the car out a tinny bit resulting in more rwhp

Thats what pretty much happens when u put the Z06 MAF in..its not that ITS BIGGER, its because the MAF table will tell the pcm car is gettin less air then it realyl is, resulting in less fuel (leaning out ) making some more HP.

But the PCM will relearn the BLMs from the o2 sensors and the slight HP will be gone...

The Z06 is physically larger, and less restrictive, that's what increases HP. And if you program in the correct Freq/Flow chart they're no difference in what the PCM "thinks" is comming in.. it's just as accurate.

theres no increase in horsepower unless the stock MAF is your most restrictive part of the intake path, and cant keep up with the needs of the engine.

im pretty sure that the stock maf flows more than enough CFM unless you are pushing some serious RWHP, so if you are just a bolt-on car, the z06 maf will do nothing for you.

I've said this for a LONG time.. but no one listens...

The ONLY reason I have one on my car is because my stocker crapped out, and I didn't want to spend $300 on another one. This one cost me a total of $103 with the pigtail.

If you have the ability to adjust the MAF flow rate table than you also have the ability to change the PE tables, which is the correct method of tuning WOT. When people install uncalibrated MAF's it may lean it out, richen it up, etc. That's why this is a complete hack! You may or may not lean out at WOT. Once the O2 sensors correct for the MAF the BLM's than also become effective at WOT. In the tuning world most of us aim for BLM's that are slightly rich so that we can tune WOT and have it more consistent.

There may be very small pumping losses through a stock MAF but that's it, it's not a restriction. I do think the integrated IAT sensor is a nice touch though

If you put a SLP emblem on your car, you get 20HP gain. Windsheild sticker, you get another 10HP. I put them on and wow what a difference...my car is hecka fast now. ROFL

Seriously tho, I noticed a really big improvement when I put in my GMS MAF with my SLP CAI. I also put in an SLP AirFoil and took out my Driverside Rainguard. I did a TB bypass and I suggest doing all these MODS at once so you know what the difference is in performance from stock to MOD. Also, doesnt the MAF increase your spark and increase your fuel/air ratio by two degrees....Heres My Results I noticed immediately:

Quick Response at Throttle
No more sluggish starts
A lil bit of a choppy Idle, due to MAF

I think the MAF works perfectly when the car is at load, high RPM/MPH range. Zippin around town aint ganna do it for ya but if your racing and doing track times.........hee hee

P.S Instead of spending money on a MAF, just get a SLP air sensor for $90 bucks. It does the same thing...increases your spark and injectors shoot out more gas. Thats what SLP told me....

yea, the air sensor... another great "hack" mod... all it does is make the car think the incomming air is cooler than it really is...

And what you felt was the CAI improvement... nothing else you mentioned increases HP... Installing them all at once just shows you what the overall gain was.. not the gain from each part

The MAF will not do anything you said it does with the timing.. and it may add/remove fuel to start but it will be "learned" out by the PCM reading the O2s...

I know this is an older discussion...

So do most of you agree that the Z06 MAF and/or the air sensor (to fool the engine that it's cooler) really is not worth the money if all I am doing is CAI, 160 stat, basic PCM tune, 1LE elbow at this time?
