8/10s and 3 MPH for $275!!!!
8/10s and 3 MPH for $275!!!!
With new plugs, wires, O2 sensors and a MadZ82 tune, I went from this
60 . 2.256
330 6.270
1/8 .9.490 @ 77.15
1000........12.225
1/4 ... 14.522 @ 98.08
Air temp = mid-seventies
To this
60 . 2.096
330 5.829
1/8 .8.867 @ 81.70
1000........11.459
1/4 ... 13.659 @ 101.32
Air temp = mid-fifties
Im sure the cold air played a big role, but an .863 second improvement???!!!
Im too lazy to look up my receipts, but I figure the PCM tune, plugs wires and sensors cost me about $275 total plus a weekend in the garage. Time and money well spent.
Too bad its time to put it away for the winter.

Re: 8/10s and 3 MPH for $275!!!!
Well, let's be a little more accurate.
You had a 0.16 sec improvement in your 60' with the latest run. That in itself will gain you close to 0.3 seconds improvement at the 1/4 mile mark. The colder weather itself is good for at least 1 mph improvement and 0.2 sec also.
Add those up, and it looks like you gained more like 0.363 seconds, and 2 mph taking into account your better launch and better weather. Gaining 2 mph isn't bad though. It's roughly 15-20 rwhp, which I might expect from the mods you did.

[QUOTE=stereomandan]Well, let's be a little more accurate.
Well, my orignal statement of picking 8/10s and 3 MPH for $275 is not really inaccurate. Maybe a little misleading -- but it got your attention didn't it?
Finn.
PS: Don't be offended -- I'm just having a little fun.

Re: 8/10s and 3 MPH for $275!!!!
Temp has a lot to do with it. In hot weather, my car (stock, full weight),would only do 14.4@98 with a 2.2 60' and my car has always been in very good running condition.
