7k rpm ???

Alright im wondering if my setup can handle 7k rpm. The Setup is as follows:

Comp-R lifters
Trick Flow Chromoly 5/16 P-rods
Comp Pro Magnum 1.6 Rockers NSA
CC306 cam
Guideplates
EX612 springs w/ lightweight chromoly retainers (~120/380 pressure)
Ferra Valves
Stock shortblock

So can the engine handle it, if not then what is the weakest link? Im not sure about the pushrods and am thinking about going with standard CC hardened ones.

Thanks,
Stu

It will handle it, for a little bit.

The 306 will make power up there, it's a topend cam. How many miles on the shortblock? And you might want to spring the oil pump for more pressure. That will help ya out anyway.

Ive got 40k on the clock. Why wont the SB handle it? Ive heard of people spinning to 7k on the stock bottom end all day long.

Those springs will give up at around 6600. 7000 and you'll smack a piston with valve float. You're going to need some beef doubles and Ti retainers to turn that high. Consider comp 977s

I wouldn't run a stock LT1 short block to 7k rpm. Those rod ends going to go from being round to being oval which will cause the bearings to go. And if those don't, then the mains probably will.
