7 mpg help!!!!!!!!!!

i recently purchased a 94 camaro from tmorgan800 and it runs great but it is soooo bad on gas. the mods the car has include a lt4 conversion kit heads intake hot cam tes headers 1.6 gmpp roller rockers slp cold air intake lt4 knock module pcm for less tune and a tci 3500 stall converter.

tommorow im swapping out the stall converter and replacing it with a 1800 stock stall im hoping this will cure the gas milage but i doubt that it will give me an extra 7 mpg so what other type maitanance can i do and what are common gas miliage killers in these cars i would greatly appreciate any help you can give thanks.

btw yesterday i put 20 bucks of gas wich here in california 2 gallon haha j/k it was around 5.6 gallon and out of those 5.6 gallon i got exactly 38 miles. this here equates to 6.7 miles per gallon and im paying 3.69 a gallon .

hell, that means your engine is running perfectly as can be. Your math must be off or something....although I suppose your check engine light could be burned out, but then the computer would let you know by lighting up the check engine light.

My car was running very rich recently and no check engine light was on. I had a mechanic look at it and he told me that the MAF sensor was dirty. He took it out, cleaned it, and the car is now running better and it's getting good mileage. I'd give it a shot. They sell MAF cleaner at most auto parts stores.

The TCI converter is not going to cause your gas mileage to be that bad. Wait, it is a lock-up converter isn't it? Anyways, find out what the real problem is, but still lose the TCI and get a real (good) converter.

Sounds like something is mechanically wrong. Swapping in a stock stall converter is only going to set you backwards and most likely will not help your poor fuel economy issues.

Since you have a 94 it could be having problems, just the engine not catching it. The 94 OBD I system isn't the best at catching bad sensors and such.

I agree.
You need to get your car scanned and see what those sensors are doing. My bet is your MAF and or O2's are bad. Have you done a visual check to make sure you have no vacuum leaks?
