Re: 6spd to auto

yea it is pretty uncommon. I have a ticking timb bomb of a 4l60e, stock, with 3.73 gears i will give to you as soon as it goes. lol. You would think it would be more common, as a built automatic with a torque converter proves to be faster than a manual at the track (quarter). I say go for it. put a good stall in there, do it. do it. do it.

Most people swap over to a th350/400 for drag racing. It's a bit of a pain since you need to change the radiator and run the transmission cooler lines. Other than that, a shifter, crossmember, flex plate and a computer tune are all you really need to swap to a 4L60E.

Im going to do the same thing as far as converting to a A3 turbo 400 and ditch the 6 speed i dont see why you would have to change the radiator for a tranny cooler run an external cooler they work better anyways

Re: 6spd to auto

You could also just run a large stand alone cooler for the tranny so you don't have to replace the radiator.

that is what I did..I do not miss my T56 at all
with a TH350-400 or a 700R4 you do not even have to retune....reccomended but not required

Re: 6spd to auto

Please read the site guidelines on what to post on which forums.

You posted essentially the same topic (M6->A4 conversion) here on "LT1/LT4 Engine Tech" a couple days ago. I moved it to "Drivetrain" because that's where we post questions about transmissions. Now you've posted it incorrectly again here on LT1/LT4 Engine Tech.

http://camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=444350

Please post on the correct forum. Do not repost a topic.... simply add on to your original post, or if no one has responded, respond to your own post and type "TTT" for "to the top" putting your post back at the top of the forum topoic listing. No not do this more than once every 24 hours.
