60 ft times

I have a 97 lt1 TransAm M6 and ran a 14.8 at the track. My 60 ft time was a horrible 2.53. How much could I lower my 1/4 mile time if I got a better 60 ft time? Thanks for your input.

Bone Stock? If so you could hit a 14 flat or maybe a 13.8 if your lucky. Takes some good driving though.

To clear up you have "flowmaster," only one on these, its not a mustang. And with that you should easily be able to hit 13.8 if you can drive it to 13.8. With an M6 its all in the driving.

Yoour 60's are bad. You should be able to hit 14 flat with driving, if you can hook up.

what kinda of tires are you running?

get a set of DR and you can easily pull a 1.9 sixty foot, you would run 13.9 or so.....

i could not believe the difference with DR, they HELLA hook.....
i run them all the time now

I would tune you car up and then buy a pair of radials. Then smoke them up and dump the clutch. Not too hard. How long have you been driving stick for? Practice starting from a stop to wot. Try not to spin your tires and still floor it. You'll get it once you have sticky tires. It is easier. Your times will drop down to a high 13 with a 2.0 60ft. Good luck

I'm shifting at 5800. I just have normal street tires. the elevation at my track is very high, all cars normally run slower there. I can't even floor it until I get part rolling pretty good otherwise I just stay in the same place. the track here has horrible traction. I haven't been driving a stick for a long time.

Yes Amarillo is pretty high up there, If I remember right is close to 3000 ft. But at least its dry over there...he he.
No kidding lets just say that you drop to a 2.1 60 foot, its my experience that every tenth you remove from the 60 is close to a tenth and a half at the big end. so all thing constant you should easliy hit a 14.0 or 13.9 with decent traction.
