6-Speed Dying From Take Off

I've had my car for quite some time and got used to the clutch/shift pattern in the first week of driving it. I have only owned one automatic in my life (my first out of four cars had a TH350 behind a 383) and none of my friends have automatics, so I know how to drive them. Anyway, what I'm saying is that I'm not simply "shifting wrong."

But, my car wants to bog down real bad at take off. The car even died once, and it wasn't me letting off the clutch too fast. If it had a carburetor, I would say that it has a dead spot. I have done nothing to diagnose the problem, because I am a broke bastard. I don't want to start swapping things out with no clue as to when I might find the problem. Chances are, an ignorant dumb *** like me would run out of money first. But, if I don't get help here, I guess I'll change the spark plugs and wires and see if that will help. If not, I'll have the shop change the fuel filter when I get my oil changed.

The car will hardly spin its tires in first gear. In second, at like 2000+ RPMs, it will still roast 'em. That's quite a change from hard not to spin the tires from the line.

Something to consider: I am very, very hard on my car. I keep it maintained, but I can't see this 114,000 mile car lasting much longer under the stress I am putting it though every day. When I get back up on my feet, I'll give her a complete overhaul (stroker build by Weber, complet exhaust, tranny rebuild by Bowler, new clutch, etc.), but right now I just want to fix this problem.
