58mm Mono-Blade 1350 CFM
Very interested in this subject. Currenty have a stock 48mm w/air foil TB, 379rwhp, 390rwtq. (I know it's small potatoes in comparison) Owen Priest of A.R.D. (Advanced Racing Dynamics) in Houston, who tunned my car after full porting, cat delete and cam swap, has suggested the Mono blade, and he doesn't sell them so it's not like he is biased. I like the idea of it mostly because it is just "Bad Ar$$", but ego asside I do wonder if it is over kill, hurting TB intake velocity; he says "nope" and that low intake velocity is more a problem for carburated cars where air velocity is necessary for proper atomization of the fuel. Where fuel injection cars are not as dependent on the intake manifold velocity so much as it is more a function of the intake port velocity on the heads where velocity is imperitive (depending on your aplication). The intake having as large an opening as resonably possible will help stabilize the flow inside the intake manifold helping the cylider fill more efficiently. This subject has fasinated me for several months now so the following dicussion will be welcomed.
According to your thread that got linked towards the beginning of this thread, you are already making "(383 LT1 w/F1 ProCharger) 1034hp and 1044tq @18psi (12psi left to play with)." So I am confused, you say you want 1000 hp, but you posted up last month that you are already making over 1000 hp. Did I miss something?
Diplomat, dude... you are running 2X atmosphere to your engine, you need more volume plain and simple. And making a GRAND of horspower you can't really look at peak HP as your determining factor, you don't run an engine at absolute peak for but split seconds on any given run and you should consider the operating range the engine spends most of it time in for actual results. At your HP levels overall system efficiency should be you consern not just the numbers at the end of a dyno run. I have a feeling you will see dramatic gains and I am not just talking about peak HP. Your supercharger will operate more efficiently also. Considering your investment already put into the car, throwing another $500 at it should be just a drop in the bucket.
