58m throttle body ,help or not
i have a 355lt1, ported heads ,cc306 cam 11.6.1 cr and runnig the dry nos system anyherer from 125- 200 shot. will a larger than a stock nicely cleaned up throttle body w/ air foil help all that much, I have heard they will give you bout 10 hp, too me tha t doesnt seem like 300-500 dollars.
Well, I don't claim to know firsthand, but when I talked LE2/LE1 supporting mods with Mr. Elliot, he recommended 58mm for my 350. Logic: If you upsize, any size costs the same, and he pointed out that in a fuel injected system throttle response does not suffer like it would in a carb application, where the fuel signal depends on air velocities. Made sense to me.
The only drawback I can think of is that the TPS resolution would effectively be reduced if full power/airflow occured at less than WOT, but I don't know how big a factor that is. So, even if the difference is minimal gains, why not? At least you would be 'futureproofed' a little in case you ever need more flow. FWIW.
