Re throttle body

Well lets just put it this way you get what you pay for. Holley has always been a better brand. Bbks are junk. I been asking almost every performance shop about BBK thorttle bodys they said they are junk, they break easy. Holley throttle bodys will run an extra 200.00 but trust me its worth every penny. If you get one get a 58mm. I have a stock lt1 and I have had no problems yet just a major increase in Horsepower. - MIKE

Well for the Money the holly sould be better. The blades tend to bind up and stick causing a high idle or stuck throttle. There are a few other quality issues as well. The only knock on the BBk is some of the older ones will whistle. Steven

I have a 58 mm Holley now, its pretty. Did have a TPIS 52 on a stock car (handful of bolt on's) and it picked the car up .2 and 2 mph in the 1/4. If I had to do it over again, I'd get a 58 even with just bolt on's....not like a carb ya know, cant over do it. TB just meters the amount of air coming in....

Just to add a note against the BBK 52mm TB, it is junk. I have one, and it's gotten stuck open twice already. I'm planning on replacing it with a Holley 58mm soon enough. I actually had to get out of my car, pop the hood, and the throttle was stuck in a position so that it was a bit off the pin, causing the motor to rev to about 2400-2600 RPM. It was pretty embarassing the first time, considering I was in the Burger King parking lot about to leave. I just fiddled with the throttle a second and it went back to place. I don't know what happened, but it's happened once about a week later and not since then... that was around sept or oct.

well ya'll have me feeling better about the holley I just purchased, I did hear they had some problems with the TPS not reading right on some though. I guess it is a easy voltmeter/drill mod and it is fixed.
