52mm TB

OK I did it, I bought a Holley 52mm throttle body for my 95Z. Do I have to have the intake manifold machined to match the porting on the TB?Anybody ever just slap one in and not have a problem yet still notice a gain? While I'm in there I am going to do the TB coolant bypass.I just want my baby to run a little faster this summer without the surprise check engine light after the install. I have already upgraded the intake system before the TB, and am staged to install the Holley soon as I get a chance.Any thoughts are welcome. Hope the HP gains are worth the pain.

No you don't have to port the intake for a 52mm tb. You only need to for a 58mm.

You won't gain a considerable amount of hp or TQ unless you go with a bigger set up. Right now you are mostly all stock so gains will be very minmal.

I actually lost some TQ going from the 48 to the 52. May have gained 1 or 2 HP on the top end.

The Dyno told the story. It was not at the peak numbers, but throughout the powerband I lost TQ.
