I am maybe going to pick up a bigger tb and wondering first if 58 and 52 is same price and realize that the intake is not ported out for a 58 currently but still woudn't it make sense to just get the bigger one anyway for now since price is the same.Also think have seen some hp gains even on unported intakes with the 58mm.

And what brands are good to get..I think I used to read about lots of trouble with bbk.Are the BBk ok lately? And what about holley or the new edlebrock ones???

Thinking of upgrading, but it probably wont do me much good. Look for power elsewhere first, TB is expensive for the little you get out of it.

 

I got a remanned ported TB off of Ebay for 150 + shipping. Haven't had any problems.

 

many people buy stock tb's and bore them to 52 and 58 mm. it's really pretty easy. bore it and cut out circle flaps to match size. 52mm will get you into the 11 sec zone without much problem. usually the 58mm's are used on 11 second cars and faster. it wont do much for a stock motor

 

You cant bore a stock tb to 58mm, they max out around 54mm
