52 or 58 which is it

i bought a holley throttle body of ebay he said it was a 52mm throttle body but it looks big when you put it on the intake the back plate holes area little bigger than the intake just a little though maybe 1/8 inch how much bigger is a 58mm throttle body on the intake also if you have 1 does it have numbers engraved on the bottom p.s. not a part number

A ruler.

6mm is a lot (relatively speaking) find the conversion for inches to MM, 1in=2.56CM i think.

Youll see a difference even if its not the most exact measurment

2.54 actually.

58mm would be just over 2-1/4"
52mm would be just over 2"

a 52mm should fit on the intake without opening up the holes, if i remember right
and yeah a 58mm is 6mm bigger but only 3mm bigger all the way around (or top to bottom side to side)
another way to tell if its a 58mm over the 52mm without measuring, is to look at the bores at the top and bottom (front edge) and see if they 'dip' if you look at the ones on EBAY you'll see what i'm saying, kind of hard to explain without pics
but you can see on the front edge of it where it was bored out more then a 52mm, the 52 is pretty much flat all the way across the top and bottom front edges, i think that made some sense
