Put an ohmmeter on that wire and make sure it is good. Also make sure the terminal on the opti for #5 is not corroded or nasty. I doubt it is the coil if only one cylinder is not getting good spark.

I am so bummed...... I took out the 30# SVO injectors and put the stock ones back in, new opti, plugs and had the PCM reprogrammed and the motor still locks up, the problem is at all cylinders not just #5. I guess it's time to open it up and see if something is broke inside......

Sadly, if you got too much liquid in a cylinder, you could have bent a rod.

So a bent rod would let the engine crank for a sec. then lock up ?

It would turn until it meets the rod that is bent. Will the thing turn over by hand all the way around?

I took all the plugs out, unhooked the coil and the fuel injector relay to pump all the gas out (needed a splash shield)turned it over for a few cycles and it seemed fine, never hand turned it. After the plugs are back in along with new oil each time (gas in oil) it turns over for a sec. and locks back up.....

Ok, well it does not sound like a bent rod. Now all cylinders are filling up with gas? I sure wish you would figuer this out so we would know what it is.

Maybe a pcm problem? If you left all the injector wires off and cranked it (I know you will get trouble codes), then still got gas, then it is a mechanical problem. Then if it fills up with gas when you connect the injector wires back up, it's gonna have to be something with the pcm or programming.

I had a local guy that does some programming check out the PCM. He put my PCM into his car and he said it dropped a few cylinders and started missing right away. He dumped my old program and put in one he knows that works. He said not to go mail order tuning anymore But it still froze up. He also told me to check to see if fuel was dumping into the vaccumm port from the hose on the fuel pressure regulator......

Yeah, checking the vacuum line to the regulator is a good idea, if you have not already checked it.

Did your programmer try it after he changed the program? May be a physical problem with the pcm and not programming.

It's Alive..... This morning I pulled the hose from the intake that goes to the fuel pressure regulator, gas big time. The shop just happen to have a fuel rail setup. Swapped it and done a plug and oil change and she fired right up. It was a little smokey at first but went away. Thanks for all the help !!

What an ordeal over a broken regulator. Sorry we did not pick up on it sooner. I have not heard those particular symptoms with the regulator before. It must have had a terrible rip in it. Glad it's fixed (not as glad as you, I bet).

Yea what an ordeal it was. I bought my old fuel rail setup off ebay because the one that came with the engine had a kink in it. One guy said it looked like it was in a fire because of the condition for the fuel nipples. Gonna take it this weekend and have some fine tuning done...... thanks again everyone....
