Well its alot newer engine. Technology has come a long way since LT1's. And HEMI's usually tend to yield more HP. Here is a good site on how a HEMI is different from other engines. http://auto.howstuffworks.com/hemi.htm

By the way, it's not a true hemi. It's a wedge head with hemi style valve arrangement.

Better flowing cylinder heads with a more efficient and powerful cam. Cant beat R&D. Especially after 13 years.... someone has to make more power over that amount of time...... well except for Ford. LOL

As mentioned, 13 y/o technology in the LT1.. that really dates back to '65 cept for some cylinder head flow technology, reverse flow cooling, and optical distributor...

That's why we mod

The 5.7 liter motor in my '77 doesnt even make 200hp and could only get 20mpg if I coasted downhill with my foot off the pedal.

But yeah like people said, our motors are just old. They came out in '92 in the Vette so theyre actually 14 years old! You cant be top dog forever.

Ford solved that problem by just straping on a blower.

That's not a solution.... that's a crutch. Can I throw a blower under my hood and see who is faster?
