It has nothing to do with whether or not the coolant is orange Dex-Cool or green "standard". No difference in cooling capacity, just what the rust inhibitor package contains.

You'll get a large range of opinions on whether Dex-Cool is good or not. Personally, I've never had any problems with it.

Cruising in 5th my car runs at 180,in 6th just a hair over,maybe 182/183.Having read the previous posts I now know this is related to the rpm's difference between the two gears.Have often wondered why it ran slightly hotter in 6th,never crossed my mind it had anything to do with the rpm's the mechanical pump was running at .
