Alot of people will say a 95 since it still has a vented opti, but still OBDI. Just don't get a 93 (sorry 93 guys). There is alot of stuff different with them and they still use air density tables to calculate AF ratios.

IMO if you can afford the LS1 ('98-'02) go with that
if not "97 LT1 cars had a different interior same as the '98 and up (nicer if you ask me)
'95 and earlier had the easier to tune OBD1 cpu
there are alot of avriables between the years doing a search should turn up alot of results for you on what year came with what!
either way good luck on your hunt for a cool car IMO

first off, that is the funniest sig i'v seen in a while

i have a 94 i personally like that interior better, but thats just preferance. i've talked to a lot of people that say the lt1 cars a more fun to drive due to the low end meat we have. the ls1 cars have a top end pull that any lt1 owner will slap there mama for. but when you go to modding the crap out of these cars they all wake up really well. so i'd say find one you can afford.

almost forgot the ls1 cars have much better brakes from what i hear.

but nothing like the feel of getting a geard lt1 and hand the ls1 a loss to make you feel good about an old car.
