4L60E tech. question...

Last friday I was at the track and the car was running really strong from the 1-2 and 2-3 shift...and then it was staying in third for maybe a second and then going into 4th (dropping to 3k) and falling on its face near the finish. The torque converter is not set to lock up under WOT and the shift points are set for the 3-4 at 5850 and its no where near that when it slides into 4th. Now I ran three times like this with it set in D (3rd) and then 4 more times manually shifting it to see if it would stay in third and to no avail. I called Brian at PCM4Less and he mentioned that the PCM might b fried and it could also b a solenoid in the trans but I highly doubt that...Something needs to send the signal to the solenoid for it to be going into 4th... So get another PCM (any suggestions as to where I can pick one up cheap) and get it reprogrammed? Any ideas anyone on what I should do next?? Thanks in advance guys!

So you are saying it's not staying in 3rd and it's going right into 4th after being in 3rd about a second?

How does it act under normal driving conditions? Does it go through the gears normally? I don't see how it can be a bad PCM.
As for manually shifting it, the computer controls when to shift it does not matter what gear you put it in once the desired MPH is reached the tranny will shift. (4L60Es)

Yes, Ive tried the battery as one of the first things but thanks 95...and Ken: I know manually shifting makes no difference but it was just something I tried. On the street it holds third fine...the only time its slipping into 4th is on the track. I've never gone from 0-100 on the street at WOT (dont really wanna try it either). I mean the car shifts fine for everyday driving but I wanna get back to the track for some better times but what's the use if this problem keeps up?? I dont know what it is anymore thanks for ur info guys!!
