Exclamation 4L60E Shift Improvement Module (Automatic)

TOPIC: 4L60E Shift Improvement Module (Automatic)

B&M Shift Improvement kit (hardware) VS. SLP module (electric)

I have a stock 96 Z28 with an automatic transmission and I want to know if any of you have experience with the SLP module? I guess it splices into into the pressure control solenoid and controls the hi & Lo transmission pressure?

So here are my questions:

1) Since the module doesn't adjust the rpm shift, how hard or how firm does it shift into the next gear?

B&M Shift Improvement kit (hardware) VS. SLP module (electric)

2) How well does the SLP module work compared to the B&M Shift Improvement kit - RV Level 1 (contains screen & springs)?

3) Which kit has a harder/firmer shift to the next gear?

What I'm looking for is to have a nice firm shift to each gear. Basically correct the slipage. Nothing extreme so I dont blow any joints or the rearend over time. Just a nice kick to the next gear. Thanks for the replys....!

It sounds similar to the B&M Shiftplus, but without a switch. If that is all it is, I would stay away from it. If it does something different, I would have to know exactly how it works to decide anything further.

Yeah, the B&M shift plus would be better since it has a switch. It sounds good since you can toggle back-and-forth and still be able to have the stock setting.

Well, I have this B&M shift Improvement kit that goes into the valve body. Should I just put that in instead of a module or switch? I have it sitting in my trunk. I'm a newbie with these mods and I just want to make sure that I know what I'm doing before I screw things up. Since I don't know much, I wanna make sure that everything is compatable with the stock/factory parts. I was told that I should put it on stage 1 (RV). What I want to know is....and back to my original question. What's better? The Switch/module or the shift kit for the valve body? Isn't the kit for the valve body more efficient?

What I meant to infer was to stay away from either electronic enhancer product. Simply raising the line pressure in the trans is not always good for it. Products that install into the valve body are ok, though you cannot turn them off.

if you get a shift improvement package, go with transgo. ive been through the b&m, the hpp3, and the t/g. the t/g is the best and is easier to install than a b&m

with the b&m, there are like 20 little ball bearings that must be located in the right place. when the kit is lifted into the tranny, they go all over the place. it took me aomost 30 min just to balance the ***** and lift the circuit board into place. with the transgo, there were other parts to replace, but easier to install overall. also, with the transgo, you can shift from o/d to first if you hit the gas hard enough. b&m wont. it will go to second then decide if you need first and go there.
