Question 4L60E Questions

Ok well i'm pulling my transmission soon and my buddy basicly said that he would do it for 150. He's good and he's doin at a dealer so its quality work. He said that all i have to do is supply the parts and he will do the rest. So what should i get? i mean i'm gonna get the overhaul kit, but any idea's on a shift kit? or anything of the sort? racing clutchs? any ideas?

There are about 3 or 4 parts that Art Carr sells that will really help strengthen your tranny. The rest of the stuff your buddy should be able to tell you about and order for you through his supplier.

I've got around a $3500 tranny in my 94Z. Tried to do everything I could to it to see if I could get it to hold over 700 hp. So far so good... of course I haven't put the good engine in it yet that makes that much hp. LOL!

Oh, also, get the deeper LT1 pan and filter. Shoot, there are a ton of things to do but unfortunately I can't speak about them on a very high level because I know squat about tranny mods. I do know I have more clutches, a lot of kolene treated parts, Art Carr special machined parts, a billet servo, a special shift kit that is more than just a Trans Go shift kit... it's like a $250 shift kit or something like that. But, probably as important as the parts I put in it are the "tricks" the installers do to make it last. I know they ground some stuff down, re-inforced other stuff but I don't have the specifics.

Here is a web page I have yet to finish. My goal was to put together something that went into detail about a 4L60E tranny rebuild but, as you can see, it is still like #1422 on the list of things to do

There are a ton of pics here for you to look at... not much content though.
