450 too small?
Ok so its just about the battery, but still important. My 93 has been really hard to start when its cold (mornings less than 35*) Since I bought the car its had this little 450 CCA battery (book calls for 525) (it tests good btw) I have replaced the plugs, wires, fuel pump and pressure regulator (and other tuneup type stuff thats not coming to mind) already chasing the problem, but hoping the small battery could be worth some attention. Runs fine and starts ok when its not cold. But in the cold it will just roll over until it dies without starting (5-10 minutes of trying) Not looking forward to dumping another $200 into an opti, or new injectors, or something else that I cannot confirm before replacing. At least the battery is cheap by comparison
UPDATE:well so-sad...battery didnt help. Guess Im replacing my coolant temp sensor, and intake gaskets this weekend for some last ditch cheap alternatives.

the colder it is the less power the battery can hold. thats why there are two ratings for your battery. cca means cold cranking amps you proberly have around 550 in warm weather and you do have 450 in the cold( 32 or below) since the car wants atleast 525 and you are only giving her 450 thats why she is having hard starts.
Hmmmm.....very interesting
The injectors can be checked without replacing. Unbolt the four small black screws on the two fuel rails (two on each rail) and have a friend turn the key so the fuel pump primes. If you see little drops of fuel coming out of one or more injector you have a leaky injector. Oh yeah, when you pull up on the rail do it gently, i dont know why people tell that but i just did waht they said when i did my IM leak fix. I guess it is fragile?
Dont lose the little rings on the injectors, had to add that in.
Opti? *I* doubt it. If it runs fine otherwise, i dont the opti will do that. No misses right?
Have you tried the ignition coil? i recall a member having a problem like this on his SS and it fixed it. They arent that expenisive.
I wouldnt start replacing sensors till you get a scan or friend with a scanner.

Yeah I scanned it, no codes except for low coolant and that goes off and on, was going to to the throttle body bypass, and bleed all at once so I dont have to do it twice.
Other than being hard to start when its cold it runs fine. This morning it was probably around 25* when I tried to start it. no luck, just drained the battery without starting, but when it warmed up to around 45* I walked up and even the battery was weak (from trying earlier) It lit up on the first rotation....VROOM
