Is 450 rwhp possible?

I am in the process of building at 396, and am pretty sure that I am going to go with a set of afr 210's.. It will have about 11.1. The moter will be hydraulic, using comp r's and a hydra rev kit. It will have all of the bolt ons. Right now I do not have money to get the heads ported, so will I be able to make what I want with stock afr's? Not sure which cam to go with at the moment, but I am sure it will be a custom grind.

Cheap-fast-Good, pick two. 450 is possible, but driveabilty? I am shoting for 350 with a 100 shot. Heads are where the power is at. How fast do you want to go? Who much are you willing to spend? There are many topics on this. Do a search.

Well I am already spendin a lot of money. Its going to be a splayed 4 bolt, with dragon slayer crank, howards forged i beams, and je pistons. I have the new jet hot long tubes sitting at home, am going to make a single 3in. in 3i out hooker exhaust with cut out. Buying 30 pound injectors. I am also pretty sure Im getting the afr 210's, and will have the lt4 intake manifold port matched. I am over my budget already, so porting the heads for now is out of the question. I want to make 450 to the wheels, to show a lot of the ls1 guys whats up. Times wise, I want to run 11's with a 10 bolt, and 4.10's on nittos. Going to try my best. The moter will have a shot on it later, because it will be built to handle it, but for a while until I get a rear end, and a fuel system its going to stay n/a.

The "moter" will have a shot on it later, because it will be "nuilt" to handle it, but for a while "untile"
Sounds like you have had as much drink as me! I'm telling you, heads are where it is at.

You should be able to get close to your goal with that setup, heads are a must though. Also pay special attention to your cam selection.

There is a particular ls1 in town a 382 that put down 457. I want to be able to do something like that. I know it can be done. The highest heads and cam that I know of where I live is about 420, but its broken right now. Most of the ls1's in town jsut have cams, so I am thinking that I will be able to beat most of them, but I guess we will see.

You'll never make it unless you work those heads. I'd some GM castings for now, until you can afford to buy bare AFR's, and send them out to a top porting guy.

Shoot, you better see NORTH of 450RWHP with a 396. I expect someone to be revealing more than that from a non-stroker in the not too distant future.

Why only 30 pounders???

The reason I am only doing 30 pounders for now, is that a dude I know in town has some that he is selling at a really good deal. I am already at the top of my budget, and figure they are better than the stock 24's.

I got mine for under $200, I dont know what they go for now but definately under 2 bills. Plan to replace that fuel pump so you can up the fuel pressure, I really think you should be running 36ers.

With those heads, untouched, and a decent cam, and some time spent on the laptop tuning, i dont see why you couldnt hit 450. M6 correct?
