Cool 402.3 RWHP on stock bottom end.

Okay here we go, Got to the dyno today and I'll let the graph speak for itself. We got 1 pull in before the dyno had a small glitch and that was my baseline pull. Minimal tuning flashed and for sure to low of a rev limit. They test pulled to 6100 the first time and little did we know that would be the last pull for me for the day. When I go back I'll go up to 6500. I had a new flash from Joe Overton loaded after the 1st pull but the dyno wouldn't come back up. She was on the rich side for the baseline run.

Just in case the picture cannot be viewed the numbers were 402.3 HP at 6100 RPM's and still climbing at about 8 HP per 200 RPM but beginning to taper off. Torque was 368 and purty durn flat too. The Borla was completely capped too.

Now some of you may remember this guy who put down 399 on a stock bottom end;

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...hreadid=119607

He and I ran on a closed airport taxiway about 2 months ago. He beat me from a roll by about 3-4 cars up to around 110-120. He'an A4 and I'm an M6 but it didn't matter, he was walking me bad! This was before. He has the video, some have seen it.

Kimber was kind enough to share his connection with Eric Bradby and Joe Overton and they took me in. The results after Eric took hold of my AFR LT4's and Joe coming up with a cam for them (different than Kimbers) resulted in the 402 RWHP with temps reading at 98* as they recorded my A/F ratio. We road tested the cars again from the same 40 mph punch as last time and the cars were DEAD even from 40-80 or 90. Give or take 6" from shifts. We ran out of room so we had to shut down shorter than we would have liked. Keep in mind I have a 3800 pound land yaught and I was runnin' with the top down. James is lighter but has the big stall so it evens out.

Anyway to say I am happy about the new setup is an understatement! Kimber and I are heading to the track tomorrow for new bests. Kimber busted 11's his first time out with serious shifting issues, he kept hitting off the rev limiter from non shifts but that is now taken care of.

Eric Bradby of E.B. Porting definitely knows his stuff as well as Joe Overton of Lethal Performance proven with his World Record holding 9 second N/A LT1. Thanks for squeezing me in to a very tight schedule fella's.

This car has about every bolt-on as Kimber 'cept I have FLP LT's to his Hookers. My heads/intake are different as well as the cam.

Thumbs up Re: 402.3 RWHP on stock bottom end.

Nice numbers!

Care to share the flow chart as well as the cam specs? It's nice to see people putting together combos that work so well - makes me want to get heads/different cam even more. Have you converted to OBD1 or did you have someone with OBD2 LT1 Edit tune the car? Keep us posted on track times.

I'll tell you guys that convert is hauling azz He's not kidding, I pulled him awful from a roll, I mean by 3 or 4 cars! That was with the AFR LT4 heads and intake with a 306! The heads were supposed to flow like 280 but ended up only flowing 255 on the intake. NOW they flow what they were supposed to! thanks to Eric Bradby. Some of you may know him, he ports the heads on Joe Overton's car
I'll bet that Gary puts down 420 on stock bottom end. Joe at Lethal EFI Performance knows cams and tuning Joe is heading into areas that most havn't gone, and making BIG power in the process!
Congrats Gary, That is one strong car

You can check out the A/F numbers but the cam will have to be discussed with Joe Overton. He won't tell you anything. He has a very simple policy. "If you don't like your cam......bring it back"

The car is an OBDI conversion and I'll leave the tuning to the expert....Joe. He sends the .bins and I load 'em.

Thanks guys

I'll let you know what I run but I'm no ET runner that's for sure. I don't launch hard and "CurtDaRussel" won't share any of his "Kung-Fu" shifting techniques with me.

Thanks again everyone, yes both cars run very strong. Quickshotkimbers is even better out of the hole.

Joe and Eric both know their stuff very well. Check out Joe's website. He has now recently tuned 5 cars not including his own and he has set up a cam for 3 of them. One car (LS1) will change over to a Lethal cam a little later. I believe all of them are close to or over 400 RWHP. The 2 LS1's are over 425.

Here is Joe's site, there may be a reference to "Tin Shed Racing" on there.

Eric doesn't have a website or a big building where he ports his heads. But he does have skills that's for sure!!!

I'd really like to see the specs on this combo, specifically speaking, flow numbers and cam specs. If you can't, can you at least tell me if the cam is "bigger", say compare to a CC306 or larger XE, or smaller, Hence CC305 or 224/230 ish?

Damn I am hoping to get there (390-400rwhp) with my current setup. I just need to finish installing Lloyd's heads, Jet Hot LT's, cloyes, CSI, etc.

It will probably be tough for me with the XE230/236 on a 114LSA cuz not too many guys have done it.
