4' WS6 Hood

okay... i had been looking for a 4 inch WS6 hood (93-97 appearance) since i bought my car and hadn't been able to find one until recently. i found one on vfnfiberglass.com for $480 (the bolt-on one) plus shipping and $15 truck freight fee. a friend of mine told me i could get one cheaper on ebay, but i had no luck finding one. anybody know of any other places that sell 4 inch WS6 hoods? or anybody know of a way to find them on ebay cuz i sure as hell couldn't. thanx.

Have some patience and keep watching e-bay, one will pop up eventually. I see at least one 93-97 WS6 hood on there every month, if not a couple. I bought mine on eBay last year (GM production) for $595 including the WS6 airbox assembly (+$60 shipping from Indiana to Florida via Airborne Express). For what it's worth, here's my tactic: Just wait to bid on auction items until the last 15 seconds of the auction. The trick is keep two browser windows open on the auction, use one to watch the remaining auction time closely and have the other browser window prepared to submit your maximum bid. When the last 15 seconds remain, submit the maximum bid you're willing to pay. If you become the highest bidder, then the remaining bidders will unsuccessfully spend the few remaining seconds trying to find your max bid and you'll wind up winning the auction. Of course, this doesn't work unless your willing to pay the price, but this tactic hasn't failed me yet on more than a dozen items from eBay and I've always managed to get really good price breaks this way. Watch out for bad sellers, they're out there! Good luck!

Here's what I found on eBay searching for "WS6 hood" and then "firebird ram air hood":
WS6 style: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2418756539
Firehawk style: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2418810579

the VFN 4" RA hood occasionally shows up on ebay, but is few and far between.

I have seen maybe 2 of the big ram air's on ebay in the last 4 months.

that's pretty much what i figured it'd be like... i don't imagine too many people give up those 4' WS6 hoods once they have them, i know i sure as hell wouldn't. even if i got rid of the car, i'd save the hood for the next one lol.

i have had no luck finding the 4' on ebay... and i really can't think of anywhere else that would have them, so i guess i'll wind up sticking with the vfn hood even tho production time can be anywhere from 3-6 weeks

I just realized what you meant by "4-inch WS6" and "VFN". Wow, those are some nostrils. http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/9301firebird.htm

I don't think I've ever seen one of those on eBay, of course I haven't been looking for one either.

lol yes sir... the whole 4 inches. that's a bad mother****er man. if i have to pay the full price from vfn for it... it'll be well worth it cuz that's a damn nice hood. i've never seen anyone anywhere i've been with that on their car. here's hoping that i'll be the first and only around here
