A little history....my starter was making noise(but the car started fine) so I got under, took a look and the housing was cracked. So I went, got a new ACDelco replacment and the car started up fine 3 times. Then on the way to the dyno I stopped to get gas and the car wouldnt start. Myself and rkrause(thanks Rich) eventually bump started the car but now Im trying to figure out what it was.

There is NO ticking like a dead battery and it sounds like the starter tries to go but slowly dies and gets quieter each time it tries to engage before it just quits.

The radio, windows etc work just fine....

Is it the battery or the starter...or something else?

 

any idea?
