4.10s and Drag Radials?

Im about to get my 4.10s installed , and SLP has this good deal on wheels and tires already set to go, they are 255/45/16 bf goodrich drag radials for $400, Just wondering if I bought them and didn't launch ever higher than say 2k rpms, would I be ok? Do people that break their rearends launch from like 6k rpms repeatedly?
Thanks
Bill

With 4.10's, DR's, and a m6 you have got to be very carefull or you will not have a 10 bolt that is in one piece. I have seen 2 m6 guys break their rears, a '95 and '98. They were doing a 4000-4500rmp launch on DR's with stock gears. Needless to say thier rears didn't make it down the track. Before you go hammering on it I would get the T/A stud girdle kit and put a solid pinion spacer in when you do the gear install. I think Raytek is where everyone is getting thier sleeves, not sure though. I would just save the time and hassle and buy a 12 bolt. JMHO

get my 4:10's installed next Sat and I'm debating on the solid pinion sleeve myself. If it makes it a little better it's what I"m going with but you have to have a shop that knows what they are doing with solid sleeves vs the crush sleeve. I am running Nitto drags now and currently I launch at about 2500 rpm and am in the very low 13s with boltons only. I'm going to look into this stud girdle mentioned above, sounds like it adds a little strenght. When my stroker is done I'll be doing a Moser 9" with strange axles for the size motor I'm building but for now am maintaining a strict budget without killing the car. Good luck man everyone tells me the 4:10's are incredible on the M6.

I will be ordering the girdle on sat. and with it Im getting the stud kit. I already purchased a solid pinion spacer and installation kit. Its in the garage. I got all my things from thunder racing. I love them. I hadn't planned on getting DR's, but its such a good deal on them from SLP....oh well, I'll see how the money comes in. Anybody know a good place to get a Strange 12 bolt rear end. And also, what all do i need when replacing the rear end, just the housing and axle?

Anybody else run this setup? I really dont want to ruin a rear end.
