3rd And 4th Gone In My A4!!!!!
ok was comming home from the hooka bar from richmond in houston!! was on 59 doing abotu 80-90mph and all the sudden my OVERDRIVE went out started to rev up like it was in neutral!! then i put it in drive and the same thing!! 2nd and 1st work great!! plus i have a 95 a4 camaro Z28 with 80k miles!!! checked the Tranny fluid and its full!!! what is the deal??? did my tanny go out or what?
Yep, that sucks.
My second gear did that, it shifted to second so I knew the solenoids were good, I just did not go anywhere while it was in second.
Pulled the tranny out in my garage had a local performance trans shop rebuild it and then I threw it back in.

tranny rebuild is not cheap any way you look at it.
You might try taking it to a reputable tranny shop and see if something not so expensive as a rebuild went wrong.
You might get lucky.
I paid 750 carryout for my performance rebuild, put in a TCI converter as well so about 1200 for everything and I did the RR of the tranny myself.
Shop around you might find a used one for cheap.
No need to go 400 turbo unless you plan on building the living crap outta your motor.

Check around in the town you live in, if you ask a bunch of people who did their tranny you will most likely hear one name come up again and again, this happened with me.
Have that person rebuild your tranny and tell him EXACTLY what you plan on doing with it, he will build it accordingly.
I have a 2600 stall in my car, stock LT1 motor with all the bolt ons.
This stall works good for me but alot of guys on here go bigger and it seems to work for em so its up to you how much you want to go with, I would not go bigger than a 3000 stall personally.
