396 stroker??

I just read the post about the 396 stroker pistons and i would like to know if they produce 5.850 rods or do you have to get them custom made? I know if your using a ofset ground 383 crank it will make the journals smaller what kind of bearing do they use? Why dont i hear alot about 396 builds?

Alot of people here have 396 motors. 5.85" rods can be used without a problem, just make sure that your piston (compression height) is correct for using that rod.

I dont know of one person using an offset ground 3.75" (383) for a 396 motor here, everyone just goes with a 3.875" stroke. That along with a 4.030" bore yeilds 396ci.
