Re: 383 vs le3

This isn't an "either/or" thing.

A 383 is a rotating assembly decision, and an LE3 is a heads/cam decision.

Re: 383 vs le3

its fun. the torque is what makes it fun, there is power everywhere. don't expect to rev really high because mine was out of breath over 6500.

a typical car with a mail order tune little to no weight reduction not set up for any kind of racing will probably run mid 12s at 112-115. throw drag radials on it and you could tickle 11s.
or at least that is my experiance with mine. My best time was 12.7 @ 112.5 with a high 2.2 60' time. I had to give it such little throttle out of the hole that it shifted into 2nd gear before the 60 foot mark. if I floored it even then it would shift back into 1st and blow the tires off. I still consider my car performing poorly but that is mostly because I am a jackass and never allowed it to run to its potential. if you listen to the smarter people on this board you'll see much quicker and faster.
on the street it should be fast from a dig or a roll. I could stay within 2 cars of a bolt on/150 shot WS6 from 40 mph to about 90 mph, then he would put a few more carlengths on me up to 130 or so. the only other car I lost to was a 400 whp SRT-4. I was at his rear bumper at 150 mph. I decimated other cars, like stage 2 SRT-4s, 370 awhp evo, 400 whp turbo VR6. I never got accurate dyno numbers but I can judge what it made just by the cars that I beat. I would say mine put down around 400 rwhp. in a stick car you shouldnt have a problem seeing north of 400 rwhp.

I just noticed your car is a manual. I think my car would be a whole lot more fun with a manual. the 3500 rpm stall was nice, but this car makes so much torque you could start at 2,000 rpm and pull strong all the way up to 6500.
