Question Mezeire Heavy Duty Pump

I know with the regular Mezeire electric water pump all you have to do is trim the fan shroud. For the HD pump, it state extensive modification required for an Fbody. Does anyone know what the extensive modification consist of? Thanks.

Re: Mezeire Heavy Duty Pump

I have the reular Mezeire pump and I had to trim quite a bit into the shroud. Depending on how much further the HD sticks out you might come really close to triming all the shroud away in that one spot. The thing I noticed about the fans themselves that would cause a problem is the fact the the blades are all connected around the outside so if you had to clearance into the blades you would have to do it all the way around. Does that make since?

Yeah, I had to remove a good portion of the shroud for the regular pump. I would stay away from the Heavy Duty pump unless you're willing to fab a new mount for your fans.

Still looking for an answer to the question. Anyone know what the extensive modifications consist of for a HD Mezeire water pump? Thanks.

I'll post their reply if it comes to me in an email.

I have the HD version and you just have to trim the shroud around the blade. It's not bad at all, there wasn't anything overly extensive to do. I'm not sure of how to post pics but if you would like some I can take them once I get home and email them to you (just send me your email address).

If you can email them (jmontign@yahoo.com) I can upload them for you so everyone can see for reference.

Re: Mezeire Heavy Duty Pump

the extensive modification they're talking about is returning the mezier and buying a CSR. Really though, the CSR requires no shroud modification but no one seems to ever buy those...why did Mezier become so well known--I mean, it doesn't outperform the CSR much, if at all.

James-
For the HD installation, it does requiring cutting the shroud. That should be the only modification necessary. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
Thank you,
Carol
So much for "extensive" LOL

Re: Mezeire Heavy Duty Pump

The pics are on the way. Yeah the modifications are not bad at all. I used a hacksaw to cut the shroud back to the fan blade itself. The only tip I can really give is that you have to have the pump on before you put the fans back in otherwise the pump will not go on. If anyone has any questions on this feel free to shoot me a PM and I will help as much as possible.

Re: Mezeire Heavy Duty Pump

That't not bad at all, I probably trimmed that much for my regular pump.
(I'm an overachiever )
