383 stroker kit..??'s

Alright, I ran into this dude that is selling a full stroker kit still in the box for $950. He said he paid 2300 for it a year ago, but ended up recking his boat that it was going into (had a 350, and has reciepts for the kit). I was going to go with an agressive head/cam package, but now that I ran into this Im wondering if I should jump on this deal, and get heads/cam later? Also, what size cam should I go with if i do get this kit? I will throw the cam in when I do the kit, which means Ill be running on stock heads for about a month. So..I need some input ASAP. Thanks

1 peice main is for the lt1. i dont know why everybody thinks lt1s take specific rotating assemblies. they use late model cranks (1 piece rear main) and regular SBC rods and pistons. its the block and heads that are different.

I perfectly know that, and I know lots of people dont understand that. my post says not LT1 OR one piece rear main. perhaps I could have written it out more clearly. my point is that it is for an old school 2 piece rear main crank, and there is a price diff.. thats my only point. and yes, your right, rods/pistons are the same.

Why would you put a stroker kit and cam in your car, run it on the stock heads for a month, then replace the heads?? Do it all at the same time.

We need to know-
What kind of stroker kit (or at least full details on ALL the components)?
How much money you'll have left after stroker kit and machine work for heads/cam?

I totally agree with that question? I would never think of goin through all that work twice. I could see if it was to drive on for this summer maybe, next year replace heads, but no way would I do it that way. JMHO
