Re: 383 stroker kit
i got the $1500 383 kit off of ebay from parish interprise. i upgraded to h beam rods because they wouldnt send my i beams. the quilty is good but the sevice sucked. it took them over 30 days to send the rods, then when the engine was together and went to put on the distibuter, i realized they sent the wrong cam. i sent the cam back and it took them another 30 days to send the right one, when the said they had them in stock. i had to threaten them with lawyers both times to make anything happen. they sent the rods after that and i had to sell them on ebay, and only got $100 for brand new eagle i beam rods. i dont recommand them, unless you want to wait for your stuff.
Re: 383 stroker kit
The Ebay kit and the kit I priced for you are not equal at all, and by no means are a comparison of apples to apple. We have less expensive packages like Eagle for $1599.99, but at 700rwhp I thought you might want to go with something a little higher end.
Re: 383 stroker kit
The callies Dragonslayer crank though not the top of the line from that company is an absolute work of art. No cast steel or lesser forged crank (say under 600$) is even comparable. Compstar rods are also of extreme high quality as are the diamond pistons.
The price quoted for the kit is very competitive for those parts.

Re: 383 stroker kit
just remember my friend victorys might be a lil more money but YOU ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR i personally would buy something as important as a stroker kit from ebay no offense to anyone who has ...but i would rather get a better quality part from someone whos known on here like victorys than some off the wall ebay store if you have a problem you can take it up with eric rather than some ebay sellar that has your money....remember you are trying to make 700 horses thats not cheap if it was everyone would have it....if not victory try some well known companys...dont play with your money....just my opinion
Re: 383 stroker kit
Yeah, don't skimp here especially if you plan on high hp applications, and/or beating the snot out of it...I have a Callies crank, Oliver 5.85" rods, and JE pistons in my 4 bolt block and its been together since 1995! And I am by no means easy on anything...Overbuilt is the only way to go...You wish you didn't skimp when you're on your second, or third build...

Re: 383 stroker kit
Consider having Callies give you the big block Chevy crank snout while your at it. A big blower pulls hard on that crank snout. The best of the best have busted their Callies small block Chevy crank snouts, (it happens).
ATI modifies the timing cover to fit a big block chevy snout.
I'm just saying, consider it. Many have not busted their SBC crank snouts with big blowers. . . . . some have.
(EDIT: I just looked and the BBC snout looks to be only available on the MagnumXL crank which cost quite a bit more than a Dragonslayer)
But heck, if it were my LT1 with a blower I'd get the $2000 Compstar speedpack with the Compstar crank, (a very good crank), and Compstar rods and dished Mahle pistons with the Mahle rings and ACL coated bearings...all balanced to perfection at the Callies factory. That will certainly handle 700 hp
Do a bit of search on the quality of the Mahle piston and especially the Mahle rings. I'm head over heals in love with the Mahle stuff.
