383 Stroker Builders

I am planning on buying a 94' Camaro Z28 and i was wondering if any of you know who can build the LT1 to a 383 stroker or even higher in the cubic inch area than that, and quite a bit of horsepower. Im not that good with cars so i want someone to do it for me because it wont turn out well if i try

Thanks

Do you plan on telling us where you live? NA, or Forced Induction? Can you put the motor in yourself? You need to be more specific.

i did everything myself, but i am a mechanic by trade. unless you have experience it would prollly be your best bet to buy a built motor. if you feel confident you could save some money by getting one of theire short block and piecing the rest together

here is the site that does there head porting www.eportworks.com. he also did mine

Smile

I have had a Golen Engine in my car now for 2 years. Its as strong as day one. I am running 421 horses at the rear with only 6lbs of boost. I have a STS rear turbo. I had extras on the engine like o-ringed. The engine is built for 12lbs but I have to now upgrade the drive train before I up the boost. I recommend this company, they know their stuff and the product will make you smile.

You will still need to swap your sensor/sending unit etc.

You don't have any local machine shops/race shops?

You should make that decision before you have your engine built. To do it right, you need a different Dynamic Compression Ratio for N/A versus Supercharger. This will affect Piston selection, cam selection, etc.

At the wheels? Do you have traction? Have you built up the rest of the car to handle the power?

My suggestion is to save up money and really plan this out. While saving, spend some on the suspension and driveline. When your ready, then have the engine built for a procharger and go for 12 - 16 psi. For that, I'd strongly recommend a dyno tune.

If your new, you may like to check out some of the Forced Induction threads and grab a few books.

When you're talking that much power, you'll need a fuel pump (perhaps wiring) and injectors... all available at Racetronix where I got mine.

How is your exhaust? Cat-back? Headers? In other words, build the car first, make sure it is sound, and treat yourself to a supercharged 383 that is built specific.

I say you start visting some local machine shops. Perhaps go with someone that has a greater knowledge base with engines. Being able to establish a relationship with your engine builder is a very important key to a successful build.
