No, just make sure that you set them at 0 lash. They will hang the valves open with any preload. There have been many threads on this recently. My cam doesn't require them, so I went with a stock replacement lifter kit from GM to avoid the hassle.

You get the specs on those cams when you pay for them. The LE2 is roughly the size of the 847, but will make more overall tq plus more peak hp. The LE3 is getting to be very large, so large it requires the comp 977 spring kit and Comp R lifters.
EDIT: yes, LE stands for Lloyd Elliot. The cams are custom ground to match his heads by Joe Overton.
