Ya bore it .030 and get another crank kit with a 3.750 stroke.

Re: 383 question.

Just boring it out, you wouldnt be able to go much bigger than maybe 360ci with the stock crankshaft.

But like was said, if you purchase a stroker crankshaft with a 3.750 stroke and bore it 30 over you would get 383.

The cylinder walls are too thin to just bore it and get that much extra displacement out of it. You need a stroker crank

Yup, gotta bore it. Just buying a 383 stroker kit without boring will get you a 377. You need to bore .030" over with the 383 kit to get a true 383.

Re: 383 question.

And if you plan on not boring it to retain cylinder wall thickness (Which is good if you want to spray a big shot on it, or make it a forced induction motor) take it to a reputable shop if you dont have the tools at home to effectively measure that the cylinder bores to make sure they are not too worn. It would also need to be honed, something I wouldnt suggest on an LT1 block if you've never honed cylinders out before. If you have, then great. You can save yourself some money, and its really not that hard.
