Re: 383 Le2

I have the current LE3 ( I think) package with a set of OEM ported LT4 heads and Bauer cam. I could have driven my daily and did for the first three weeks. I put down 370 at the wheels with a 16:1 a/f ratio and bad rings and still managed to break my 10 bolt. I highly recommend his work. Another customer with a grin from ear to ear.

Daily driver man... I can't wait!! WooT
I was running a ported stock t/b (52mm) and it would pull upto 3" of vacuum at WOT, and the general rule of thumb is to shoot for less than 1". Now it has the monoblade on there, and I will know tomorrow if the vacuum problem is fixed.

Personally, I would atleast get the intake ported and opened up for a 58mm or monoblade if you plan to put one on in the future, as that would relieve you of the hassle of pulling the intake.

Wicked, You were running a little lean there buddy!

Definatley ask Lloyd what parts you need to go with your setup and make sure you get them.

TQ driven had the larger LE cam for his setup and allthough we have gone smaller (relatively) the cams make more power and still pull into the mid to high 6000rpm range if you have a LE2/3 setup. They are just more drivable now and they have more midrange TQ.

Come on guys....thats not that lean..... . Thats the price of learning to tune yourself I guess. But the weird thing is I wasnt getting any spark retard request from the cpu. But now that I pulled it apart due to spun bearings the pistons say otherwise.

Well it's hard to have knock when you are out of fuel!

You do learn these lessons the fun way sometimes man.

Re: 383 Le2

I should get it done right the first time with the intake and throttle body I know, but funds are low and will get done when the time comes... I have to see what the machine shop will charge to port out my stock intake.

Does anyone know how much a new throttle body costs?

Lloyd already said that I should see about 420rwhp/380rwtq typically (with high hopes) with the supporting mods... mods being I don't have are...

CAI ( I have a WS6)
Ported Intake
58mm TB

Just curious to see how much of a disadvantage i'd be out without the mods for now.

LE2 (LT1 castings I think) package is said to flow about 278 on the intake at .050 lift and have a cam about 230/236 duration and a .600 lift... With the 383 i'm hoping it'll make my car streetable SINCE THIS WILL BE A DAILY DRIVEN car. Thats where my concerns lie. That if I can drive this car everyday without any serious issues. I do travel with this, mpg isn't a huge concern since I heard I can get roughly 20mph on the highway not beating on it, which is totally cool with me since i'll have a mid high 11 et and almost a 120mph trap!! WooT

Also, i'm not going to do a splayed 4 bolt, since its like 1k and I really can't afford that right now since THIS IS my only car and I need it back asap. I was just going to stud the thing and call it a day. Assuming the crank/rods/pistons can spin to 7k... how high would you guys spin a studded 2 bolt with a LE2 383?

Re: 383 Le2

7k is always pushing it... but it can be done and the ARP main studs really help.

If I was you, I would find a beater because this always takes more time than you think it will.

I just want to spin the car to about 6300 or so, nothing more then that since the car will only make power to about that rpm so... just making sure that the studs will do its job and make **** right. I would hate to spin a damn bearing... oh man that would not be good.

Re: 383 Le2

It will work on a mild (400rwhp) 383 without problems then!
