383/LE TFS combo
Re: 383/LE TFS combo
Strokerace is right. Getting the valve train setup is work. I am a prime example of that. I am in the process of redoing my valve train due to a colapsed lifter and eating guide plates. I went with the Isky adj. guide plates. You can set them where you want them and once they are set tack them with a weldwer and you are set. Good luck.

It takes some work to get the pattern as narrow as possible and the sweep as close to center as possible. Ya will need an adjustable PR also.

Nah you gotta turn down a piece of 5/8 ground rod and make it right within a .005" for a checking lifter!!!! ;-)
It's nice to have a machine shop!

Don't know what ya are calling healthy though.
That one is probably in the 250 range.
Re: 383/LE TFS combo
The TFS guide plates align everything like they should be. The Comps are just a lil different.
I would stick with a 5/16 PR, just get a Comp Hi tech series the right length.
The TFS heads have a small hole for the PR to travel through and a 3/8 would probably contact the head from just eye balling it.
