A set of ported LT4 castings will flow enough for a street 383 motor, the cam choice will be crucial though to stay compliant.

I would build a 10.5 :1 compression shortblock with some nicely ported heads. Then get with some people that have to experience the same tests as you and see what cams they have been using.

Lingenfelter put together a 383 package that passed with flying colors and ran low 12s high 11s at the track and then placed second in the one lap of america competition. The cam would be considered mild here, but it was a 219/219 duration at .050 and 540 lift with a 113 lobe sep (if I remember right).
The heads and intake were CNC ported then finished (with 2.00/1.56 valves). He of course used the most expensive bottom end stuff, but the cheaper stuff would handle the same power level it went through. He had 1 3/4 shorty emissions legal headers high flow cat and 3 inch cat-back. He also used the stock injectors.

Ok, well i got to ride in my first juiced ls1 the other day and omg gotta have it...

gimin N20, ok so couple of questions, he was running with 80 shots is that ok for a LT1? and if so what do i have to do to make sure my engine can handle that? and secondly how do i make it so if i get pulled over i wont get into any trouble on the street?

his bottle was placed in the spare tire location is this a good spot?
and about the N20 injectors how do i make that not stand out? isnt there a carb legal version?

I would try a Crane compu cam 2050. Don't know the part number but it has a wide lsa 116 deg with 218 deg dur @ .050 intake/ exhaust with .498 lift with 1.5:1 rocker. I had one these and it was a very nice cam. Very strong and a nice idle.

Or you could just get some forged pistons, good I-beam or H-beam rods, good crank (not necessarily forged) and 4-bolt block, good heads and a blower cam .... and go get a supercharger

for the LT1's ... a supercharger is **THE** way to make incredible power, just make sure you get some good hogged out AFR LT4 heads or something...

I told you a N20 motor would be the way to go. I would call AP engineering if you want to buy a short block or complete motor. I would have Lloyd work over your heads and maybe a comp cc305 cam. As far as the juice goes I would look into an NX kit. I would put th bottle in the spare tire compartment and mount the N20 on the underside of the intake tract or get the maf kit, that should conceal it pretty well. They make a switch panel that fits in you ash tray. If you get a bit creative you can hide the N20 really well.
