383 help
I boght a NOS kit for my car now. I plan on running it on the stock LT1 to test its limits befor i do the stroker motor. I bought a stroker kit a few months back but it only cast crank and hyp. Pistons ( 11 to 1). How much NOS can they handle. I plan on running the CC306 cam. Trick flow heads. Where whould be the best place to buy a Forged 383 kit
I wouldn't worry to much about the crank if you plan to run a 150-250hp shot. But I wouldn't consider generic hypereutectic pistons. You need a pison designed for nitrous. KB makes some hyper pistons designed for nitrous, and there lightweight forged pistons that are emphatically not designed to run with nitrous. So it isn't completely a matter of forged vs. hypereutectic vs. whatever.
Anyway, the best pistons are made by JE/SRP, Ross, Diamond, etc. There are a lot of choices. The most mportant thing is to get a piston designed for nitrous. It will have a thicker, stronger crown, beeed up pin boss, thick ring lands. Also avoid light weight wrist pins with N2O. There are other engine building "tricks" for N2O that I could go into if you are interested.

I really don't know the low end rods very well. I think Scat makes a moderate price forged rod.
